Keith Andrews turned to his bench, introducing Aaron Hickey and Mamadou Sangaré, followed later by Malick Diouf and Dango Ouattara to inject fresh legs. After a quick counter saw Damsgaard and Thiago narrowly mistime a two-on-one break against Chelsea's last man, the defining moment arrived in the 83rd minute.
Damsgaard slipped a sensational through-ball behind Chelsea's high defensive line.
